Odyssey Announces Permanent Drop-In Night for Young Adults

After two months of a successful pilot, Odyssey Youth Movement is excited to announce an additional night of Drop-In programming to serve LGBTQ Young Adults in the Inland Northwest.

Earlier in summer 2017, after hearing feedback from youth participants and the community, Odyssey opened its doors for a pilot targeted towards LGBTQ young adults. This group has been drastically under-served in the Spokane community and the larger region for quite some time. The pilot was an incredible success and staff announced at the end of September that this pilot would become a regular part of Odyssey’s drop-in programs starting October 5th.

Young Adult Drop-In

Thursday (Weekly)

5:00-9:00pm

Ages 18-24

1121 S Perry Street

The program is drop-in style, meaning participants are welcome to arrive and leave when convenient for them throughout the evening. Participants will have access to the full space including the clothing closet, hygiene products, safer sex supplies, regular meals and snacks, computers, games, and more. During drop-in hours participant driven programming on a variety of topics will be offered. This program is designed to create a safe space for LGBTQ young adults while helping to build skills for self-advocacy.

The Young Adult Program joins Odyssey’s existing work with youth ages 13-18 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as well as the organization’s extensive work training youth providers throughout the Spokane community.
